It all started with a chance meeting when Kristine visited Jelly's class as a representative of Local 1907 to introduce the women to career options in the carpentry trade. Little did either of them know this meeting would eventually lead to Kristine helping to launch Jelly's career when, with Kristine's help, she joined the carpenters union after graduating from the course.

Kristine was the role model Jelly strived to emulate, especially Kristine's carpentry skills and leadership qualities.
